A sisterhood with purpose. In 1980, seven Latina women at Rutgers University–New Brunswick came together to respond to the prejudices and obstacles facing minority women. More than four decades later, that vision still guides us. When you join CUS, you become part of a legacy built on open communication, community service, and the belief that we rise together. Corazones Unidos Siempre: hearts united always.
Wisdom through education. Our motto is a commitment to growth. Every chapter hosts programming that builds educational, cultural, political, and social awareness, from voter registration drives to honest conversations about identity, culture, and community. You’ll leave with sharper thinking, a stronger voice, and the confidence to use it.
Service that makes a difference. Our chapters raise funds each year for our national philanthropy, Girls Inc., which helps girls grow up strong, smart, and bold. They also complete hundreds of service hours across the country through projects on their campuses and in their communities. Here, service is part of who we are.
Leadership you can build on. From chapter offices to regional and national roles, CUS gives you real opportunities to lead, plan, and grow. National events like our National Leadership Conference and Awards Banquet connect you with sisters who share your drive.
A network that spans the country. With more than 70 chapters, from Boston to Miami and Tucson to Ann Arbor, you’re never far from family. Our undergraduate and alumnae members form a lifelong network, so your sisters are there for your next step, whatever it is.
